Fresh Green Beans, Mushrooms, and Almonds

As a side dish, this recipe can be paired with Ribeye Steak, Meatloaf, Pot Roast, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Breast, or a variety of other main dishes. And of course it would pair beautifully with a Thanksgiving turkey. Its simple elegance is what makes it so universally accepted.

Ingredients:

* fresh green beans
* bacon
* 1/4-1/2 cup water
* fresh mushrooms
* butter
* 1/2 tsp Vermouth (optional)
* sprinkle of Special Shit or Good Shit
* toasted almonds

Preparation:

Fry several pieces of bacon. Remove bacon and crumble. Wash and string fresh green beans, leave whole. Add beans to bacon drippings, and add water. Steam for 12 minutes. Set aside.
Sauté fresh mushrooms, which have been sliced, in butter. Add Vermouth (optional), Special Shit or Good Shit, and 1/2 of the sautéed mushrooms to the green beans and reheat.
To serve, arrange beans on a serving dish, top with remaining mushrooms and toasted almonds. Sprinkle with Special Shit.
