AwShit Spicy Chicken Tenders Recipe
Honestly, what is better than munching on crispy, delicious chicken tenders? Munching on crispy, delicious, SPICY chicken tenders, of course! Eat these as-is, or stick 'em on a salad, on a bun, or in a tortilla. These are a perfect snack or an easy dinner---marinate them 2 hours or overnight for maximum flavor!
Ingredients:
* 1 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into strips
* 1 cup buttermilk
* 1/4 cup hot sauce, like Frank's
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/2 tsp pepper
* 1 3/4 cups flour
* 3 tsp AwShit
* 1 tsp onion powder
* 1 tsp baking
Preparation:
1. Combine the chicken with buttermilk, hot sauce, salt and pepper, and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight.
2. After the chicken has marinated, combine in a shallow dish the flour, AwShit, baking powder, and onion powder. Take each chicken tender, one by one, out of the marinade and let the excess drip off and then dip into the dry mix. Make sure you coat every part of each piece. Then place onto a wire rack and do the same to the rest of the tenders.
3. In a skillet, heat the oil to about 350 °F. Then, working in batches of 3 or 4, place your chicken strips into the oil. Use tongs to keep them from sticking to one another. Cook for around 3 to 4 minutes until they start turning golden, and then flip them over and let them cook another few minutes until they are a nice golden brown and crispy. Take care not to let the oil get too hot.
4. Remove the strips and place on a wire rack or on a tray lined with paper towels.
